David R. Clark
Meet David Clark, a relatively new member of GardenComm, but he's certainly not new to our industry! With a focus on horticulture education, plant science dissemination, gardening tips, and trends and floral design techniques, David excels at presenting this information to local and international groups. David has over 80 classes "in the can" and "ready to rock and roll."

You can see David on stage at the upcoming Plantasia Garden and Landscape Show in Hamburg, NY, where he'll present a new program, "Ancient Trees and Old Growth Forests of Western New York," as well as "Underused Annuals and Perennials - Tough Plants for Tough Sites."
Hailing from New York, David belongs to GardenComm Region 1. He feels like the exposure he gains to other members and learning communication tips and techniques makes his membership worthwhile.
He has been a college professor at S.U.N.Y. Niagara County Community College, where, as a horticulture instructor, he taught floral design, greenhouse management, and history and practical experience for the florist, among other subjects.
For the past 14 years, he's also created and delivered horticulture instructional programs at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.
David has over 40 years of experience as a horticulture/plant science/gardening educator/presenter/floral designer and has facilitated thousands of western New York gardeners and 8th District Federated New York State clubs.
Right now, David says he is "consumed with the award-winning Royal Hawaiian® Waikiki Colocasia" and has "100 square feet of LED panel growing space in my basement for my horticulture class projects, and also my orchid and carnivorous plants collection."
A funny story about David: He was once contacted by the Royal family in Dubai (for real!) to be the personal gardener on the royal gardens. My Momma said, "Definitely Not, Dave! They will keep you, and I will never see you again!" He had to listen to his Momma, and this was one opportunity he did not pursue.
David encourages members to look at "Garden Wisdom" on WNED-TV - Buffalo/Ontario. He was involved in pre-production/sourcing local talent, final production, and a launch event. This program gets "pushed" out to viewers to this day - most numerous in the spring planting season, over and over and over.
David is also a regular contributor to the local online gardening magazine, Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com.
There is so much more to learn about David; this biography just scrapes the surface! If you would like to connect with David, feel free to check out his Facebook profile and give him a follow!
