Doreen Wynja

GardenComm Region 6 member Doreen Wynja resides in Oregon and has been a member since 2012! Doreen loves the gatherings for the annual GardenComm conference and says she's "always on the lookout for more gardens in new locations and meeting new like-minded people."

A photographer, graphic designer, artist, and speaker, she is about to add a book to her list of accomplishments! The book will be written by Lorene Edwards Forkner and is expected to be released in 2025. β€œIt’ll be about the people who tend their own gardens," she says.

Doreen is genuinely interested in plants, gardens, and the gardeners who tend them. A photographer, she has a huge stock library of garden landscapes and plant material with a focus on sharing beauty via websites, marketing, magazines, and books. She also enjoys helping others improve their photography skills via presentations or classes.

As an outside contractor, Doreen has been photographing plant material for Monrovia since mid-2006. She is contributing to some new marketing pieces Monrovia calls guides, which help people choose plants for their gardens. Some guides include photography of designer-created gardens, along with a varying array of plant material.

Doreen is inspired by many people and says, "Tons of plants thrill me, especially zonal challenging ones!" She continued, "Loree Bohl & I share many of the same gardening philosophy and plant likes! Love her Fearless Book!" That said, Doreen admits her own garden is a delighting, sometimes agonizing, ongoing project that she cherishes.
