Join in a festive evening of storytelling on Wednesday, October 12^th – (5:15pm to 6:30pm EST) during the 2022 GardenComm Virtual Conference. Attend as a speaker or as an audience member. What is a Story Slam? . . . Think “The Moth goes horticultural!” (And if you’re not familiar with The Moth, Google this NPR program and podcast.)

 Remember, you must be registered for the Virtual Conference to participate in the Plant & Garden Story Slam.  You can register for the Virtual Conference here, then come back here, take a look at the rules below, and sign-up to participate in The Plant & Garden Story Slam.

Rules for The Plant & Garden Story Slam: 

1. Stories need to be told, not read, and they should be under five minutes long. Anyone going over will be removed from the virtual stage, so practice and time your tale accordingly. 

2. Since the time for speakers is limited, if you want to be sure to be given a slot to present, send an email about your commitment to present to the evening’s MC, C.L. Fornari: clfornari@yahoo.com before October 7th. You have to be registered for the virtual conference, and all presentations must be live.

3. C.L. will compile a list of presenters as they are emailed to her, and they will be called to the virtual stage and microphone in the order that those emails came in. If you want to participate, email C.L. as soon as you’re registered for the conference, so you’ll be on that list. Last year we had more people wanting to tell stories than there was time for.

4. At the end of the evening attendees will select one storyteller via a poll, and that person will win a prize from Smart Pots.
